Announcing the 24th Annual California Studies Conference


The California Studies Association 24th Annual conference was held on Saturday April 26, 2014. California on Fire: Climate Chaos, Inequality, Urban Transformation was a day packed with interdisciplinary inquiry into the theme of fire in literal and figurative terms, via critical, political and literary presentations exploring the volatility of California.

Call for Graphic Submissions! (now closed)

The California Studies Association is looking for large format visual images (such as graphic posters and maps) to display at its annual conference to be held Saturday, April 26, 2014.

The theme is "California on Fire: Climate Chaos, Inequality, Urban Transformation" in all its aspects— politics, economics, and nature. Illustrators, cartographers, and artists are encouraged to send imagery that explores the historical or contemporary volatility of California.

FORMAT: The display size will be 18”x24". Please submit pdf or jpeg formatted files with at least 300 dpi at the display size. CSA will produce high-quality digital prints from supplied files. Original prints submitted should not exceed the display size without prior arrangement.

DEADLINE: Submissions must be received no later than March 31, 2014.

CSA reserves the right to reject submissions.
